I just bought some new door switches from Racetech to replace old door and colours are not the same as old

Old colour wire is;
2 x black
1 x red & white
1 x orange

where as Racetech buttons wire is;

2 x blue
1 x yellow
1 x red

can someone advise which colour wires go with each other.

cheers

Well, two will be for the light and the other two are a make/break switch. Try doing a resistance check with a meter to find the switch, then it's just a case of getting the positive and negative the right way around for the led.

Slightly off topic but don't Farnell's do a nice stainless / aluminium switch that's suitable for the Cerb doors?

If so do any of you have the part number as I'm ordering some other stuff from them and wouldn't mind getting some.

Oh, and as for the wiring, do as Byker says.

With your meter set to ohms find which two wires "join up" when you press the button.

These are your wires to open the door.

The wiring diagrams that Byker has on his site should tell you which of the original colours are which.

Ireland I think you're thinking of the Bulgin ones:
http://www.bulgin.co.uk/Products/Switches/Illumina...

I think it was Olly fitted the external IP68 vandal proof type switches for the outside - without led.

There's a load here - http://www.rapidonline.com/searchresults.aspx?mode...

We use them at work on our kit biggrin
