New heads needed

My 1997 4.2 Cerbera is at APM for an engine rebuild. Just spoke to Andy and I'm going to see him tomorrow to discuss the options but he has told me that I'm going to need 2 new heads.

I've got the option to get 2 new heads or he has some good second hand ones instead. Has anyone had this work done recently and got any opinions on my options from here?

The exhaust manifold is also cracked! So need that changed as well.

But on the good side the bottom end is all fine and just needs to be "refreshed".

I will of course give you all an update when the rebuild is done. With the usual performance graphs to discuss!

What has happened?

I needed a new head as a valve guide had come loose.

You need to be quick...

But those are probabally 'bare' heads, i.e. no valves guides etc etc. So, beware

Nothing happened. It has a value that has been stuck and 60k miles just wanted a rebuild to get upto and beyond TVR promised performance figures.

What I like about melling in those adverts is that the race engine he's trying to sell it pictured on a stand in the living room of his house .

I have a friend who has a 16" Cerbera wheel as a coffee table in his lounge!

Oh, and it's still got a tyre wrapped around it!!!!!!!
