The first thing I thought when I saw this was what an ugly boot spoiler - why would you do that????

I tell you what though.....leave your boot open one day and go for a quick blast, as soon as you get above 80-90 (Obviously only on private track Gentlemen) that boot lid will lift right up - so our cars are generating negative down-force at speed so maybe they should have a spoiler - but No, I'm not going to get one

absolutely correct! the latch that keeps the bootlid closed isnt the best, and if I havent made sure its properly shut, it always lifts up just as you describe!
