Just noticed that one side of the bonnet (drivers side), where the catches are, seems to be chaffing against the wing. Is this a simple fix by just adding a rubber spacer to the metal on the catch or is there a way to adjust the alignment of the bonnet

Thanks...

My car the windscreen end of the bonnet is sloppy enough to move 2-3 inches left or right. The velcro in the centre is what stops it moving left or right while on the move. So I would take a close look at that and maybe replace.
Front of the bonnet on two screwthreads, which can be adjusted but probably better to leave alone if no chaffing that end.

Mine was doing this until it was pointed out to me at a recent service that the bonnet was only connected by one hinge, the other had effectively broken off - needed some fibre glass work - not expensive though..... glad they spotted it before the bonnet flew off whilst making progress!

Yep me too. But dont like the look of that fiberglass holding a screwthread. Thought I'd redo it with two large washers and a hollow shaft. Work in progress.

This did make me laugh... when I read the reply "perhaps the velcro that hold the bonnet in place has come off" I assumed it was someone taking the piss.

Open the bonnet and lo and behold the velcro had come off. Now if only I can convince my wife to stop laughing at the fact a £40k car has velcro to hold it steady.....

Yes, I think its a feature of Cerbie owners that when they find out that things like velcro are used in their £40K car they laugh and not cry.

Glad to be of help

Just under the windscreen is a valence that comes out to a sort of plinth that supports the central portion of the bonnet and on mine it had Velcro on it. Tragically only on one side although you could see where the other had been on the underside of the bonnet lip

I think you'll find thats not just any old velcro, its top quality aerospace velcro. I've heard NASA use it to keep the payload doors on the shuttle from rubbing

You know what the saddest thing of all is... I bet that it's not standard velcro. I tried to replace it and it just peels off. I'm sure it sits in a catalogue somewhere...
