Need some advice guys! My baby may have to go! I cant believe I'm even posting this but I can't let a car (sob) stand between me and my goals. The situation is I have taken on a project that is going to use all of my funds, I don't need to sell her to do this but it's tight enough to mean putting her away for six months just incase! (you all know cerbie ownership feels a bit like russian roulette financialy).
Easy, you say, sell it and buy another when you've finished but in the time I've had mine I've spent thousands on her, every last bit and piece has recieved hours of attention and its now the car I always wanted.
So the question is do I keep my safe car that I trust and looks how I want it to, or do I sell it and go through the process of sorting out another when my project is finished, I'm also aware that buildings can bite your arse far harder than a cerbie so the cash in the bank would be a comfort.
p.s. What could I expect to get for her if I sold?
Cheers for any advice!

Nice car and it looks like you will have spent a tidy sum on it (lights, wheels etc, etc). I would say that if you intend to sell then get another when you can then you should keep hold of it. If you sell you will probably be out of pocket then when you come to buy another you'll have to start again making sure it is all up to scratch.
However if you really need a comfort zone then sell it, I'm sorry to say that it is only a car! Sell it.
How many miles, what year, engine and what sort of history does it have ??

If for your project you don't need to sell the car just not run it, then I'd say wrap in it cotten wool (bring it out once a week for a quick blat to avoid the problems related to long terms storage) and then in 6 months unveil her to the world and go have some fun.
Spending a heap of money getting the car just right only to start again doesn't seem too sensible to me esp given how stunning the car looks now !!

I'm tempted to say "SELL IT" just so I can buy it
The car looks awesome, exactly how i would want a cerbera to look. If you dont need to sell it to fund the project, you could always keep her as long as you can and should you really need the money I'm sure you'll find a buyer soon enough.
Or you could sell now to someone understanding and ask for first refusal on the car when they come to sell it...

I would say it would depend on how long you need to be without it. If it's one year plus then I would sell and buy another later because the depreciation should mean you can get another and have work done on it for the same as you would get for yours.
If it's only 6 months then keep it - it's looks amazing BTW !

(I think its the best colour personaly

I think its probably best to let her go anyway, if my project goes ok I can get A 4.5 RR or T350 which is tempting. In the mean time I was thinking of A bike to ease the pain. The question has to be what do you lot think its worth? 4.2 rosso pearl with the new type R lights from TVR bodyshop at the same time I had them do a full respray so obviously imaculate. Rear light conversion, also just fitted new avos and springs from joolz. 98 plate with 45 on the clock and a full TVR service service history that amounts to over £15,000
. I have recently had fitted top range infinity / pioneer ice including perfect ten sub and big amp should I take these out do you think? Seems a shame to IMO, Thanks for any (nice) replies.

its not fair, no one wants one with that mileage unless you sell it for peanuts. Looks lovely, but if you can replace it with a 4.5 Red Rose later on then it might not be so bad. you will miss it soooooooo much, then when the projects done you can have a real 400odd bhp to play with!!
Good luck with your project whether you keep the Cerb or not.

£20 I was hoping for more than that
,If 18 was realistic i'd be happy any more is a bonus. I dont expect for people to pay for the stuff i,v done but I do want a fair deal, I,d be happier to see her go to the right owner who will appriciate what i,v done. sorry to sound so sad but this car was a dream realised for me. The intention was to keep this car but the rewards to sell are to great at the mo, Im a builder and have to take advantage of this oppotunity. It's nice to get feedback from you guys but what should I be asking price wise?

kstead - not being funny but the clutch/engine mods are really things I would expect you to know EVERY detail about. I am certain any prospective buyer will be wanting to know so you'd better dig out the receipts and or speak to the factory
Point taken james, just pulled out the invoice from TVR centre and it says "renew clutch and asscociated modified parts" lookin through it looks like flywheel, bellhousing, thrust bearing, slave cylinder etc. £1684.70 I guess this is the one?
