What are peoples preferences as far as a track biased pad goes. Off to the Ring and Spa in May and would like something with a little more bite on the front over the rear. Was thinking Yellow Stuffs. Anyone got any links to sites selling those and other tougher pads?

If you want EBC then go to TVR Supplies or EBC Direct. If you want some good unbiased advice then call Circuit Supplies 01525 385888. Not the cheapest but they supply Ferodo DS series pads. The only pads that AP recommend.

I've just come home from the Octane.ie track day in Mondello and I can safely say that the EBC Red Stuff pads will indeed stop you ..... but they get bloody hot.

I had a couple of moments when I came back into the pits and had to go out again for a few slow laps to get them to cool down.

There was smoke coming off them.

Perhaps once I get my new discs fitted it'll make a difference as they'll be grooved and cross-drilled.

But I did have great fun.

Not an expert on this subject at all, but didn't the owner of EBC recently post and I got the impression that yellow stuff are probably better suited for a Cerb on the track rather than red stuff.

Think you're right Harry, I got reds at the moment but when they need replacing I think yellows will be worth a go.

I'd be happy to try the yellows as well next time just to see if there was a significant difference as I was very surprised how hot they got. Funny the way things go as I'd expected the fluid to be the thing that would cause problems but it was fine.

I've got reds on at the moment and had severe brake fade at Brands recently, I'm in the process of stripping the brakes down to check what the cause was, but there are signs of a lot of heat on the pad, discolouring of the paint. scratchchin

Have ordered a set of yellows in the latest compound, will see how they do.

Shame really as the reds had only covered less than 100 miles!

Had the same on my 200sx Tim, but found it was due to a sticking caliper. Had to replace those reds and they were nearly new too!

Calipers were completely stripped, cleaned and new seals fitted.

Everything was moving fine when it went back together.

Anyway, will know if changing the pads has solved it.

Fingers crossed
