Hi,

I have my car at the garage in sweden changing to emerald ecu.

With original ecu decatted and with sports exhaust it had 410 hp on the rollling road.
Now with emerald ecu and re-mapped it has 440 bhp.

What is normal?

Is yours a Red Rose?

410bhp on a standard 4.5 would be amazing!

410 to 440 with Emerald and remap is about spot on (for a Red Rose)

(Good)Standard 4.5 would normally show 385 pre and about 410 post remap.

Hi TrackCar,
What is Red-Rose? I always thought it was a chip, but I guess not now.

Possibly, it could be that the road you used is optimistic. I believe that there are various calculations, to in, theory make all roads output the same, but until you get all the cars tuned / tested on the same road, there will always be questions. And even then, you won't stop all of the questions biggrin

Here we go - the great dyno debate all over again.

HB, if your cars making 440bhp on any dyno then it looks like you've got a good engine, but I've seen cars make up to 50bhp more or less depending on what dyno they're run on. If your going to have engine work done on your car, then I would suggest pick a dyno and stick to the same one before and after the work - you'll probably just get shot down in flames if you try and defend your dyno results.

Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt for one second that you have a graph with 440hp on it, I just doubt your car actually has 440hp smile As said above, it's the great dyno debate which always happens and just means no-one ever believes anything anymore, except which car is fastest at the Pod or Fighting Torque etc etc .. after all you can have as many graphs as you like but if your car is beaten by a car with supposedly 50hp less you've got to question one or both of the claimed power outputs smile
Bring your car along to an event if you ever venture across the water, that's the real test smile

I only believe in "at the wheels" figures from dynos when comparing figures from different dynos, makes sense, no?

at the end of the day if you cannot drive it either, then it doesn't matter if you do have the extra 50HP...

i've always laughed at the figures debate, everyone asks for them, then you're forever defending them.

No there's your problem, or maybe not, what dyno is it? Do you have the print out , it will probably show the make.

I'd bet his car has got 440bhp and I also recon you should all learn to deal with it!

Slap the bell ends out boys lets measure them again................ duh!!!!! hehe

Who cares if it is slightly less it could also be slightly higher too! He's in Sweden FFS colder denser air probably helps with a few extra ponies.

Joolz please dont bore us anymore with the whole thing about you dont have the talent to make a faster one so his cant be! Its ok we still love you! tongue out

Right whos got a speed 6 thats blown up recently and was it a 2003 or newer model? rofl

Ok, so knock 15-17 bhp off got the 4th gear run (because thats all the differnce will be), to make it a 3rd gear run, and that is still a bloody heathly engine he has.

Nick, you better get yout engine to 450+bhp soon (and drivable), because someone is going to come along and take your crown away soon.

I know joo had it to 450 on the dyno once, but surely its time to push the envelope now to higher figures
