Problems with internal car temperture

Cerbera 4.2. (97) I have a problem with the temperture inside the car. Most of the time the driver's side vents are behaving e.g Cool air when needed. However the poor girlfriend is getting blasted with hot air most of the time, only sometimes cool air when it should be - This is not going down very well!!! The temperture of the cool fan seems pretty random. However there seems to be constant heat through the vents onto the screen!! Also the air con has stopped working. The blue light comes on and I hear a click from the heater control box but alas no conditioned air! Can anyone shed any light on these problems?

You will probably find that the aircon is out of gas.

Same problem as me. Firstly, have you closed the hot air vent above the passenger's knees? Your car is the same year as mine and might need the hot air recirculation mod done which involves blocking the inner near side wing with foam and then modifying some of the panels in the passenger footwell to turn the hot air system into recirculation. This stops hot air being forced into the cabin as the car travels forward.

It's quite a job and took me a full weekend. Lots of pictures to post soon.

My air con is also playing up. First it was out of gas, now it seems it might be overpressure. Both can cause problems I'm told.

discovered yesterday that while my aircon works (the cold air certainly gets colder) it seems the fan has given up the ghost. The airflow stays the same if it's on or off!!

Also, as with yours, the far side passengers vent apparently blows hot air!

I am assuming that some design fault heats the air up before it gets to that vent, but then it must be passing through the heater matrix or something??

I'll certainly be checking the cold air fan ASAP. I drove up to Ashover yesterday, stopped for a drink and when I got back in the car, the gearstick was almost too hot to touch. I drove over to my sisters house (a couple of miles) and back to my mothers place (another mile or so) with both windows down, and I was still dripping with sweat when I got out!!
