I've been told by a dealer that I should keep it covered - I don't have a garage - will the car disolve?

What do the warranty companies/tvr think of this type of claim?

I kept my Cerbera outside for 2 years and it didn't disolve/melt or whatever. It was out in snow, ice, rain, hail. The works. Always started first time, after I de-iced the windows so I could open the doors

They don't "leak" although water can sometimes find it's way through the engine bulkhead when the rubber seals perish, especially if it's left outside all the time

I did use a plastic car cover sometimes to cover the windows during the winter but this was only to keep the ice off the windows and allow me more time in bed in the morning

It partly depends what year you have and how well the car was sealed in production. Some of the known leak points only do so in motion so sitting on a drive is not a problem. In '98 a list was distributed with 37 potential leak points on it so the answer is yes they leak sometimes, although most seem perfectly sound (mine seems OK in driving rain, & if left standing on the drive).

I have had my Speed Six 2001 left outside since new and have had no leaks from windows or doors but have had a small leak from bulkhead seals which are easily cured with silicon sealant around all rubber seals under the bonnet
