Going to put the cerb in the classifieds in a couple of weeks, just waiting for the car to come back from Austec to have a scratch in the rear qtr painted, and a service before I sell...

What does everyone think the car will be worth.

As said, will go in the PH classifieds soon with pictures etc, but I want to gauge the price right before I put it up

Cerbera 4.5 LW Red Rose. 33000 miles (face lift model)

Full TVR Service History up until the Russian took over, and I have had the car maintained by Austec Racing. I have all the paperwork for all the service work, from the 1000 mile service onwards, and all misc items either bought for the car, or work done on the car.

To add to the work done, I have had a blue printed engine build by Austec Racing and included the following at 29500 miles

  • Block line-bored
  • Full bottom end balancing, for crank, rods, pistons (new piston set), and flywheel
  • Gapless piston rings
  • Up-rated shells for the rebuild
  • Rebuilt oil pump
  • Rebuilt heads, and new Austec profile cams.
  • Block deck height matched to heads
  • Heads CC balanced, ported, and skimmed.
/ACT Carbon Fibre induction kit, inc short induction
  • Custom 2.5 – 3” Stainless steel exhaust, by Haywood and Scott (cat back system) 101.5 dbs at 4000 rmp.
  • New Alternator (thanks to AA breakdown cover)
  • New battery.
Just has an intermediate service and check before sale to make sure everything is ok

Last dyno’d at 427 BHP before the exhaust, so should be in the 430 – 435 BHP now with a little tinkering.

Crystal topaz, with navy blue leather, and pale blue carpets

Cheers

Sounds like a good Cerbera, the engine rebuild build sounds like it was done to improve quality and not just to get back on the road as cheap as possible, so that should give you a few extra points as well.

But what about the chassis condition?

And what about the suspension and brakes?

If I was looking for a good one I would be worried about those as well.

IMO The cerbera market is not polarised enough, Good ones (with documented proof to backup the condition) should go for better money than they are, however bad/undocumented ones should not command the money they are getting.

Brakes are fine, chassis was protected when Paul put the engine back in, no rot on the top rails, and the car has Avo's, not the best shocks in the world, but you can get a set or Racing Reds for £600 for all 4 corners, or Nitrons for £1k in Intrax for £1.4k, take your pick on how much you want to spend on suspension...

Just passed the MOT so 11 months left.

Invoices for ALL works done to the car, every one, from new.

Cheers

I agree with the polarisation comment. There are few cars of this spec around. Ask 22,995 and take 22.

I agree with the polarisation comment to an extent, but i've also seen similar cerbs for sale £9k apart! I guess each car has to be valued on it's own merit, not easy if you're new to the marque.

I've been appraising prices for a while and would say the OP's car would be on par with mine, although not a RR, it is a couple of years younger and less miles at 26k miles. I think for a private sale you'd be lucky to get more than £19k IMHO.

I better chuck in the numberplate 'V8 CBY' with the car too then smile

Problem is comparing apples with apples, a LW RR is not too common, a rebuilt RR to slightly higher spec is mush less common. Every car has a buyer it just depends on whether the right buyer turns up before you get bored with waiting. My experience is always to ask the higher end of what you are looking for, you can laways come down.

Out of interest Mr F any particular reason for selling confused

I'm interested as I've got a very similar car, but unless I can't read you haven't given the age of the car?

Your profile says 2001 - go back 3 spaces and do not pass GO! Reduce value by £500 - take a Chance - "nice plate and sensible mods add £500" to give original £18k val. backwink

In all seriousness Cerbs are advertised at 'asking' prices and it seems to be a very tough market at the mo'. I would say advertise yours at say £19,500 with a view to betting £18k ish.
