so.... it appears my time for owning a cerbie has been and gone... After a long and loved time, it went down to Dr Fernhurst today and was found with a chassis that was in a nasty way and fuel lines that were in all sorts of trouble....

Confronted with a large bill - I have decided it is time to bail out.

I would like to say thanks to all of you here, for all tips, advice and fun times over the past years and what can i say its been real...

Cheers, and keep well...

I will own a TVR again!!! For sure.

Stuart.

Body off rebuild time, as many of us are facing shortly... thankfully, im pretty confident we can rust proof it so that it actually lasts - rather than using the 10p wilkos finest possibly-rust-proofing-we're-not-sure TVR choice. rolleyes

Another 98 model.

First rotten one I saw was a Green S plate 98 4.5 in Birmingham, ten years old now, but rotten at only seven years old, when I saw it.

What a fking disgrace.

British car manufacturing at it's best.

Russ, our late 97 is pretty bad - it'll be off the road later this year for a complete body off rebuild. frown It has done 75/76k in all weathers/lived outside for most of its life though... still unacceptable, but we'll rebuild it to outlast the sodding fibreglass... Is your '96er fairing any better?*

  • must try and avoid joking about it never seeing bad weather as its always in TVR powers garage... hehewink

laugh

I'm waiting for the phone call..... "Your engine's back in & running beautifully, by the way it's failed it's MOT, while it's been sat here, the chassis's rotted away"

Wouldn't be so bad, but they've started breaking the frigger.

I picked the 4.5 up from a service last week, and to cure the battery light being on for the first few seconds of a journey, they've nicked the new alternator off the Blue one.

I keep seeing threads along the lines of ..."Anyone know of the whereabouts of a 4.2 crank case" followed by "I've found one at TVR Power" yikes

I've got a feeling they're going to send my car back on the 962 bus, neatly compacted in to eighty Sainsbury's shopping bags.
