Finally! After nearly a year when 3rd gear went bang in Germany last year, I'm mobile again!

Passed the MoT today bought some nice cheap taxwink and been out for a nice drive this afternon.

After I whacked some new Ferodo DS2500 pads and and a set of Steve Heaths Drop Links, which were a doddle to fit and no clunking. Also managed to cure a reoccuring missfire that was caused by the Magnecor leads being a bit of a bugger to seat properly. Even wosre when the exhaust and coolant manifolds are red hot!

It's so good to finally be back in the saddle! laugh

Nice one mate, did you use my gearbox in the end?
Be good to catch up at some point.

any idea what difference this would make to a normal "road" driver ?

Hi Rich, yep I sure did and even with having 10k more miles than my old one it feels so much better when changing gear. Stuck some Royal Purple oil in it too.

Got any further with yours? I saw you had the mounts knocked up. Might come for a drive down your way in June time. If I make it back from Germany again! laugh

Tbh I have no idea. Mine were broken when I bought it and have been running it disconnected for the last 3 years! It does make the car feel a lot "sharper" as far as turning goes. The originals have quite soft bushes.

Yep got a bit further, but thats a different topic.

You're always welcome to pop down anytimethumbup Be good to see your wheels in the flesh. June would be good, the body will probably be going back on at the end of June. So make sure you pop down before then if you want to see the chassis.

Cheers,
Rich.

No, but there have been previous posts about them clunking due to incorrect fitment and notes on the fitting instructions about them being clunk free. smile
