"...runs and looks like much lower mileage."

so I wonder what the mileage actually is?

Looks like bl££dy good value for money - still worth having an Archer in your pocket to sort out any bits and pieces....

It has 88,500 miles, it is a 97 P 4.2 and is advertised at £14750.
There have been many Cerberas sold for less than this.
Price looks about right to me ie a 4.2 from 97 with that miles should be 'cheap'.
I have a S reg 4.5 with 61K and would reckon on 17K or maybe 18K if I get it totally sorted ie the sort of things a dealer would do on agreeing a sale (re-connolise leather and sort a couple of very small scratches).
If it has excellent history and recent tyres, exhaust, engine work etc then I would say it is a bargain.

Have already seen 14.5K at Auto Trader a few weeks ago. £16K seems to be the going rate now for early 4.2's that didn't spend their entire lives hitherto in garages only to come out on special occasions...

Personally, as a punter that might eventually get a Tiv to drive, I think the better car are actually at the lower end of the market. Never mind a stone chipped front and moderately worn leather - if I have to choose between a seven year old car with 20,000 miles or one with 70K on the clock, I'd take the latter as it is far more likely to get me to work and back, and the price diffence wil likely pay for major repair/ovehaul work in the future...

You are a rare animal - most people seem to put colour, wheel size, stone chips and leather condition top of the list and they also want low mileage. Low mileage to me means that the car has either had problems, hasnt been driven enough and will have probs if you change it to a regular use and also has probably had a broken speedo at some point and so has prob in fact done more miles!!
I would say that I wold NOT want a car that has done less than 8K pa on avg. I would always be interested in higher miles as long as the history and price support the case.
I hate having totally immaculate cars with low mileage - you get scared to drive them, wash them far too often and get heart stoppers when you find a scratch etc.... All show, no go.

Gazab quote: above.

My cerbera will only do about 3k a year this is because it was bought for summer use only. Its a 2001
bought with 9.5k on clock. Therefore in 3 years time
it will have done 18.5k with total history. Its in Mercedes brilliant silver with black leather and silver stiching, 18" spiders, nitrons, 3" s/s sports pipes. Upgraded brakes. Do you think ill have trouble
selling. Hope not.

You wont have any probs whatsoever selling that at the right price - top spec etc and low miles. Personally I would go for a car with more useage. Thats just me and that is rare.

I've regularly browse on Auto Trader, just out of interest - there are quite a few 'cheaper' Cerberas out there right now - far too tempting!

I'm waiting for Tuscans to start hitting £20k

Tuscans have already hit 20K though - well that is what people get offered on sale or return. So I am sure you cant em for 20K.

When I was hunting, I was looking for car
that had been used on a regular basis, hence buying one
with just under 40k on the clock from the two main owners.

The colour was not critical, although I had ones I didn't want and I even looked at one that needed a complete front end respray due to stone chips.

I got the car I wanted and while it's true a cam now needs doing, it was on it's original cams and gear box
with the rest of the car sound and an excellent drive!

Pity a dodgy garage had to go spoil my fun!

Anyone got a key to the TVR factory so we can get the
parts while they lie on a beach until the 1st September?

sounds a bit expensive to me with that mileage .. even though cerbs are generally very reliable there's still the stigma of the early cars hanging around.
last year there were three cars I heard of for around 10k, not good ones but a little TLC would have sorted them into presentable cars I think. I would have thought 13k was nearer the mark, but then again it might be stunning and give you years of great service in which case it would have been worth it. 15k gets you something with half the mileage if you know the right people.
