This has been bugging me a for a couple of weeks now...my oil pressure light is coming on but only when in fifth gear. Always when I've given it some pace and then back off. The thing is, the light comes on when the gauge is saying the oil pressure is between 25 and 5 psi.

There's plenty of oil in there, any ideas? Gauge faulty? Light faulty?

Low rpm, hot engine ? Perhaps gauge and switck ok. Engine worn ?

I think the oil pressure light sender units go quite regularly. Cheap to buy, pain to replace! I'm assuming your gauge is reading 25-35, rather 25-5!

Sorry, I meant 5-25. It doesn't seem to have any relationship with revs, they can be high, the gauge says 25psi but the light still comes on...

The Speed Six engine forum is a better place to ask questions re oil pressure etc for S6s.

25psi - my ajp8 reads about that at idle, 55psi when warm, 60 when cold!

Stop boasting!

Is there a certain range when the pressure light comes on, as it seems to be inconsistent on mine? Unless my gauge is knackered of course..

You need to ask the S6 guys ! The sensors are often buggered. The important thing is the reading on the dial. If that is the same as before then I wouldnt worry too much.

Cheers Gaz, can I get this moved, or should I re-post in the s6 forum?
