Getting a cerb next week

Hi Guys i may be getting a 4.5 cerb next week its a 97 reg got all the bits on it that i want . Ok guys what am i looking for with possible problems ?? Any advice would be greatfully received .

You have a Cobra Jonny, that you built yourself, so it seems you are a bit of a Petrol Head and tinkerer who doesn't mind getting his hands dirty - an essential requirement!
As Mars advised, spend all night searching the Forum to get as much information as you can. I'm also amazesd that people seem to jump into Cerb ownership with there eyes wide shut, you definitely need your eyes wide open with a Cerb.
Don't take these replies as negative and unfreindly though, all new Cerb owners are more than welcome, just do some research - then come back and ask for the answers you didnt find.
Just bear in mind that even though it may be in the same price bracket as used Golf GTi, it's going to cost 5 times as much to run. Good luck in your search.

Thanks guys Yes i have built a cob ,and yes i dont mind getting my hand dirty . I know its a costly hobby owning a cerb but hopfully i can do a lot myself ?????

Congrat on the purchase, ppl on here could give you a list as long as your arm about potential problems that could occur but if you pick a good well maintained car you might have a good few years of trouble free motoring!!

I got my Cerb in March and have had no end of trouble with the cigerette lighter ever since!

Can any Cerb owner help please?? I need the plastic outer bit! Ha-Ha!


Topped up the tank yesterday, popped down to find Austec for a chat about upgrades, but on the way had a bit of a blast with a Yam R1!

I knew he would pull away, but I was supprised how well I did.
And I think he was too!

Been out today and the tanks empty!
Is someting wrong?

Ask 'Byker28i' He used a plastic shower curtain ring, and it works !
