Sticky throttle (help)
Discussion
I've done this too and you're right it's a bit fiddly. If the cable is new, the perhaps the route you've taken has a tight turn in it? My sticky throttle disappeared when I installed the new cable. Did you take the clutch fluid reservoir cover off to look at where the cable goes when you did the install? I found this helped a lot.

I watched a mechanic do it. so don't know the route it took but he said it was really difficult. That would make sense. How do i do this myself?Steve.
Take the battery cover off (remove the three allen head bolts, disconnect the hoses to the wipers) and then carefully slice the silicone bead around the clutch reservoir cover in the wing on the drivers side. There may be screws holding the cover in too, so find and remove these before you ease the cover off. You'll see that the cable runs in a loop around the back of the brake servo. To see the rest of the route you need to get on your back, upside down in the footwell of the car, with a suitable torch. The cable comes in through the wing and then loops around the brake servo before finally going into the throttle cable, in a 270 degree loop. It is entertaining to fit if like me, you're somewhat wider than the footwell in a Cerb. Good luck!

do you feed from the pedal up or the engine bay down?
Steve.
Given that the original cable snapped and now the new one is stiff is it worth checking that the pedal and throttle assembly are aligned and moving correctly. I only ask because I'm modifying the cable end stop because it is not exactly aligned to the throttle assembly and the cable is rubbing.

Mine is a bit offset too - it's another thing to sort out, but in my case doesn't seem to have that much effect. hollywood said:
