Got some 18" spiders from a breakers; seems the wheels are all in need of a complete refurb (I knew one needed doing) so on the basis that they are on sale or return I'm torn between sending them back or negotiating. (note: I don't have any issues with said breaker, in case the name and shame police get onto me).

Also, given the rarity of the spiders (I called a few other places and none available) I think it's going to be Silverstone SP's.

Can anyone cheer me up with a picture of a blue Cerb with SP's in Silver/Anthracite/Black?

Need to get the image of those blue Cerbs with spiders on at Goodwood out of my head !!

cheers

bit confused by that Ridds.

RL 7's on your car at The Ring, and something more fancy on your profile pic.

You should worry Mike, i've bough a refirbished set of RaceLine 17" from an eBay seller, and they haven't turned up! cry

Numerous emails and a few phone calls and they still haven't turned up. frown

Are they really that bad Mike? You can get them refinished for around £60 a wheel.

SP are quite expensive for that they are. All IMHO of course.

Sorry to hear that Tim; refurbed 17" RL 7's (probably not orange though !!) £600 + VAT at a breakers.

The problem with the Spiders is that after a £180 refurb and tyres (circa £500 all in) I'm into SP money, which kinda makes more sense.

£600! You are joking! Ouch.

Forget the SP wheels, have a look at Longbow's profile, he's got some lovely Compomotives on his car now. They look the mutts. yes

Just personal preference really. RL's I have are 18's. The Vortex's are 19's. There are plenty of wheel options out there and think people should consider others than the usual Spiders and RL's expecially the money you end up spending to get a good set.

Oh I have a set of 17" RL's in anthracite somewhere too..... laugh

Phil's own Cerb: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v146/espadaphil/...

I've got a CD rom full of SP12 pictures from the original launch...I'll see if I can find it. Otherwise just drop Phil or Matt @ SP a mail and I'm sure they'll be able to sort you out.

I'm pretty sure they are talking about the SP12's(team dynamics make),the quote i noticed said.........."As do Team Dynamics aka Rimstock. Available from Halfords about £100 a corner."
I'm not sure about sizes, but original poster was referring to 18" wheels.
It might be something and nothing,i just thought it might be worth your while checking it outsmile

Hi MGAUT - as someone else posted - Boss' Cerbera sports the silver SP12's and one of the reasons I think they look so good, is that the colour is quite a 'black' silver - more of a pewter colour. (That said, I realise that blokes do 'black' or 'silver' and not variations of colourswink ).

There are added benefits with the SP12's too of course tongue out.

IIRC, you can get 'special' colours done on the SP12's as well?

Your car is beautiful btw, I didn't get chance to have much of a chat with you on Sunday!

I have been down this path before. SP have a deal with Rimstock/RD to get the wheels amended for various TVRs. This is more than just machining the lettering off. Cant recall what else is done to the wheels. Check carefully before buying the non-SP versions. There appear to be some advantages to the SP versions.

I still think that the Spiders look great but the SP's are close and are a better wheel. Yes as has been raised again on this thread, you can buy a version of them cheaper from Demon Tweaks et al if you want to mess around with spigot rings, working out the best offset and can put up with chavvy writing on the rim edge (that was the kicker for me)... at the end of the day you will save about 3 tanks of petrol, given you will have the wheels for quite a few years I think the difference between buying the Rimstock "universal" version and SP's is fairly immaterial. Longbows do look nice too and I am sure a decent wheel, ACT also do some nice ones too just to add some balance.

Here's another of Phil's bluey however:
