I'm on me hols at the moment, driving the cerb down to Montpellier, sud de France. This is the third year for the cerb and me, and it's always a fantastic drive.

Anyway, having been bored with the 130 limit, scanning for cameras and BiB, this year I decided to take a 250 mile diversion through Germany to stretch the old girl's legs auf der Autobahn. So I did some googling and found some derestricted bits and set the satnav accordingly. So this afternoon I'm following the nav and it takes me past The 'Ring. Stone me if there aren't N thousand people, tents everywhere and banners about 'Rock am Ring'. Seems like a major event. Took half an hour to crawl past all the people crossing the road. Hadn't seen any mention of this on PH so thought I'd mention it.

Needless to say the cerb got lots of attention, shouting, and the universal 'do a burnout' circular hand gestures thumbup

Ps The standard reply to this is to point to a girl in the group and do the 'lift your top' gesture. But I only thought of that afterwards smile

Here you go, some good bands including TVR fans, the Prodigy.

I made a detour to the Ring last September on my way to Nuremberg. The Mercedes SLR owners club had booked a track day and I had a great couple of hours watching them swerve around the bend at Adanau. Fantastic sounding cars.

Are you going to make it to Euro 2008?
