Long time no post, engine rebuild help needed
Discussion
Hi everyone,
Haven't posted here for a while. Unfortunately I had to SORN my car in December 2006 due to a multitude of reasons.
One of those reasons was a headgasket going.
This effectively made me decide on taking the car off the road until I could get an engine refresh done on the car.
I'm finally in a position where I can start thinking of putting the Cerb back on the road.
What I'd like to do is use a local garage (like and trust) to remove the engine, and then send it off to get the work done at a trusted approved engine builder.
So the question is can i have some recommendations for where I can send the engine to get the work done.
I'd like copper gaskets if possible and I'd like the shims done, and anything else that needs doing.
The engine is a runner and turns over straight away to 1000rpm idle (which kinda makes me smile and want to cry if you know what I mean).
Any replies much appreciated
.
Yours
Duncan
