Cerbera diagnostics in Berks (MIL light on)

Hi has anyone got a laptop and diagnostic software for a 4.5 cerb? i ve just had my dash replaced and after connecting everythign the MIL light is flickering when driving the car. looking at the posts here the suggestion is to use the diafgnotics software to find the fault. BTW my water temp gauge isnt working but im not sure if this would show.
