OK! I've had enough tts telling me my car will break down I think its time we fought back!
Seems some of you are having trouble selling your cars? Wonder why?

Bought my Cerbera in March. My first TVR.
Just driven to LE MANS and back, with a number of trips into the centre for shopping etc.
Sat in que for peage for 30 minutes and the car has not missed a beat!!

Please only add good news to this thread and lets see how many reliable cars are out there!

Maintenance is a known fact, so no need to add that.
Steve

I'll see your 1,200 Russ and raise you another 1,200, in 4 days of driving. Loved every minute, the car was flawless. People hanging out of windows to get a better look x5, passengers of other cars straining to get a look x60, passers-by stopping to gawp x10. Photos at peage bouchons x4. Cheering from pedestrians x15. Cars charging up the fast lane then pulling in to be behind me x30.

Magic.

eta: no oil or water consumed.

Looks like it's me letting the side down then.

1,000 mile trip to The Ring and had to add a few drops of oil when I got home.

Such a disappointment smile

The fact that I've been drinking doesn't make it any less true biggrin

1300 miles to Spa and the Ring.

300 of those miles driven hard.

Not a problem out there.

Up to Scotland from Somerset a couple of weeks ago. Over 1000 miles, really varied weather, some awful traffic, and some dreadful road surfaces. Oh and about 23 mpg, which isn't bad at all for a 4.2 litre engine.

The Cerb really starts to make sense when you do some distance, I have done similar journeys in different cars and I felt freshest having done it in the Cerb (and had a big grin on my face too!)

Not been far but 30 mins in rush hour traffic in Cambridge yesterday evening and the temp never got above 90. Oil pressure 40+ when hot at tick-over. Not bad for a 36K unrebuilt 4.5 eh.

Since Le Mans last year where my Cerbera lost all the slave cylinder fluid, I might add that this was due to wear & tear and 30,000 miles on original, that my Cerbera has not missed a beat in 12 months!

In fact I would like to add that my Cerbera seems to have covered the past 10 years very well. I'm only now changing items like clutch, shocks and brakes that are becoming tired not because they have let me down!

Took a friend out in her last weekend now she has new suspension and he was blown away by the handling! He said it was "Well Planted"

Thank God I own a Cerbera!

Le Mans and back; 900 miles. Gorgeous. tongue out

(Trips to Nurburgring last year x 2 - Amazing) lick

Refreshing to also note that the presence of the Cerbera even stops people asking me how tall I am. (Of course the fact that the car demands more attention than me could give me a complex at some point! ;-) )

No appologies for raking this up again.

Just done Le Mans Classic then a few days in Dordogne at a friend place.
Over 1100 miles without a hitch!

Topped up oil, 1/2 a litre in 3000 miles! 70 psi hot!

Had a great run from Pompey up A3 in the dark from the ferry last night!!!

Surrounded by Porkers, Healey 3000's, E types, Cobra's and loads of others and they ALL look away embrassed!

What a cool car!

Sounds brill. I did 800+ miles Fri-Sun with no problems. Got home after a 300 mile trip, unloaded the camping stuff and, erm, went out for a 40 mile drive as I was enjoyng myself smile

Oh, and no real problems with the other 20+ TVRs that were with us, or the 15 or so that joined up whilst we were there. Awesome sight smile More awesome sound smile

I really want to buy a TVR, but why are you all so impressed that they do 1000 miles with no problems, surely this should be a natural requirement

Well, maybe we aren't really. It may be some of is get a bit fed up with frequent posts knockong them.

If they're looked after, they are reliable. But, some models in particular are very high performance and do need care.
