Hi all,
just got my clutch out at long last along with my slave cylinder. Now for the questions. Can you just replace the clutch plates or is it supplied as one big package, plates, finger surround you get the jist ! Also stripped down the slave cylinder and found some worrying marks on the inside faces of cylinder piston thingy. If i buy a new slave cylinder, what all do you get, i mean what bits are replaced, might this scored thingy be replaced ? Sorry for the vagueness but dont know their names, but willing to learn. Also best place to buy new clutch and slave cylinder ? Spoke to the guys at tvr power and seem top blokes, very helpful and about £700 for both inc vat. Any input as always greatly appreciated. SVM

Have a look on Clever Trevors website I have just brought their new all alloy slave cylinder and raceproved clutch. You can get the clutch rebuild kit as well. www.tvrspareparts.com

I've just been through this. Replace the whole of the slave cylinder, it's not worth risking less. Depends whats wrong with the clutch, but if you get it refurbed, go to someone who knows what they are doing because the material needs to be thinner than normal. I would buy new. As for what parts are covered under warranty if anything goes wrong...haven't a clue.

My slave cylinder seals went last year, although didn't know what had gone wrong until we took the gearbox off, then I got covered in fluid!

My clutch was OK, still had all fingers and looked in good order (31,000 miles on this original unit) but decided to buy a new slave cylinder and clutch from Trackcar-Raceproved. I had to wait several months as there was a back log of orders at the time, although I could have gone for the original AP type from TVR which was in stock.

Anyway, long story short...The clutch from Trackcar is bloody good! The pedal is so much lighter now as the slave cylinder is made from a lighter material rather than stainless steel. I recommend the Raceproved clutch, which you can get from several different places but I decided to get mine from Trackcar as they are nice people and very professional!

Good Luck
