Ok so my cerb's been off the road for almost a year now (due to me breaking my back in a couple of places falling off my motorbike before anybody moans about no using it enough lol) so ive got a couple of questions before i start him up again
Is there anything i should do before i turn him over for the first time, ive checked all fluids and topped where needed and charged the battery(it was totally flat...now theres a suprise). Iam particulary worried about the oil pressure, will it come on straight away(a second or 2??) or will it take time to build up? Anything else i should be worried about?
Whats this in the pic?? Its a plug of some sort with a 3 amp fuse.

I dont know how that plug got in there. But that is a two pin military spec plug used for aux equipment in Landrovers and Armoured vehicles.Somehow, some one has found a use for it in yours.Regarding start up.I would give it a few short spins on the starter to get the oil up,before starting.

No, because the immobiliser cuts the starter circuit too.
Not on my old Cerb it didn't - you unlocked the car (so immobiliser disarmed) but you had to press the button again (unless you started v.quickly after unlocking) to prime the fuel pump. If you didn't do this you could crank the engine on the starter with no fuelling. Which obviously led to amusing "why won't it start?!" panic until you got used to it

Make sure you can gently turn the engine over by hand FIRST i.e via crank pulley
If you remove the plugs this will make it easier but the last thing you want is a broken piston ring if one has corroded to the liner.
It may be worth putting some Redex or similar into each bore & leave over night to soak in. The only thing is when it does start make sure you are in a well ventilated area as you will get clouds of smoke.
You should'nt have any issue with the oil pressure as the starters on the S/Six or AJP spin the engine over so fast.

Thanks for all the replies, i ended up taking the plugs out and after spining it a few times by hand i cranked it over a couple of times, put the plugs back in(not very easy doing the ones nearest the bulkhead) cranked it over and started within a second
Very happy now
Oil pressure went upto about 60ish in less than a second or 2!!
Goin away to get wee bits and bobs done to it on thurs and a nice new Mot (hope it doesnt sting too much) only done somthing like 400 miles since the last one
