I'm very familiar with the dreaded fingers going on the clutch as its happened to me twice now. I'm just hoping that this is not the 3rd time. Hopefully its not as the symtoms are different.

There was a thread a couple of weeks ago and I suppose mine is similar. I'm on my 2nd clutch which has been in 9 months and done only 4000 miles. Its an AP one and was put in september time last year along with a new slave.

This morning I struggled to get it in gear more than normal when switched on and driving off. However, it was fine after about a mile and has been ok all afternoon. After leaving the car for about 4 hours I decided to check the fluid levels and it was low...none in the master cylinder. I've topped it up and started the car and it seems ok. Fingers crossed. My question is this. Does the fluid general get low under normal circuatances? If so, i'm hoping that this is the problem. Wheres does the fluid go. I did start the car afterwards and it was ok. Not sure whether i'll have to bleed it or not.

Cant see any oil under car or footwell.

Forgot to ask. If I have problems with clutch/slave, have I got any warranty?

Just checked mileage....its only 3000 miles.

It does sound like either the slave(fluid on the ground) or master(fluid in drivers footwell) is leaking, you should have to bleed it unless you caught the fluid just as it was running out/before any air got in which is very unlikey but bleeding it is a simple job(even for me)

Cany help with the warranty, best phoning up who ever done it and asking

Car seems ok today. Been for a drive. Not had to bleed it either.

Can anyone answer me the question as to whether its the norm for the fluid level to drop?

No that shouldn't happen. Mine did the same this past winter (it happened on the drive so there was no pressure in the system that forced the seals to go). It happened again a couple of times afterwards and I just bled it through. It happened again just before I took her in for a big service recently and since the master seals gave up just 2k miles ago I decided preventative maintenance was the answer. Hopefully the CT slave is more durable.

Steve.

Cheers. I thought that was the answer.
