Anyone know this car? i cant understand why its still for sale?! Anyone who knows cerberas must think this is a pretty good buy (p.s. can you take it back off the market for a while until im readywink )

Rebuilt to 4.5 with 4.2 induction will be capable of 400 horses easily, the 96 chassis (which are reputed to be the best of all years), what looks like excellent paint - and all the other bits that you would want - starter motor, stainless pipes etc...

Price is excellent, and any interior bits that (may) need doing could be done and still get you a great value car....

I would certainly be looking at it if i was in the market...

yikes That is an absolute bargain, I would have said £13-15k given the work gone in to it.

It says new crank too, I'd like to think that'll be the later larger journal so no future issues, agree no reason why that shouldn't be knocking the door of 400hp thumbup

Getting an inspection done wouldn't hurt. Interior is a bit odd though. Blue leather on front and wheel and the rest grey. I'd probably retrim to match + I'd have to put the dash back to original but that's my taste.

10K sounds about right to me. £10K for an early cerb with a rebuilt engine but untidy interior.

Buy on condition, isnt that always the advice?

No matter what the age - if its had a reputable rebuild (despite the ELC colourswink ) and the chassis is sound, with the rest of the goodies it looks to have - its still a bargain.

No-one has actually seen the interior have they? It may be perfectly fine - although colours are not to my taste either, but at that price can you really be that picky?? Re-trim if bothered!!

Why would you buy a later car over this one?

p.s. i have no vested interest in the car - it just caught my eye!

Obviously an inspection on overall condition is the key, but if sound then £10k for a Cerb with a new engine, Nitrons, SP12's etc is worth quite a bit more imho.
The recent bills alone probably came to that, I do not see how talking down prices is helping anyone, even those that don't yet own one. If the prices stay firm then everyone is happy, if not then this car would have been scraped rather than rebuilt.

I think you'll find a lot of the cars tend to have dark steering wheel & dash. In my experience the light coloured steering wheel on my old car doesn't wear well & it makes me wonder if the light coming through the screen or crap coming out of the vents, led TVR to advise people to go for that combination.
My later car is light Grey but with dark Purple dash & wheel....

Has anyone on here got a light coloured dash & wheel ? As I don't reckon I've ever seen it on a Cerb

Didn't they deliberately darken the dash to stop reflections on the windscreen?
Mines lightish, but a darker tan then the rest of the interior

Have to say for £10K that car is tempting.

Yes, I have a magnolia dash top and wheel, same as the rest of the "leather". Frankly, it is a pain as the reflection off the dash top in sunlight is verging on dangerous, sometimes. I would have it changed if it was practical, but i believe the windscreen has to come out to change the dash top.

Aaaahh that makes sense.

FWIW if ever you decide to do the leather, my local windscreen replaced mine, and said there was nothing awkward about it.

They did a good job, the car lives outside & has never leaked

Shouldn't the air freshener be hanging inside the car though?
