Does anyone have a spare 4.2 ECU I could borrow for a few days? (Beer tokens happily supplied)

After some rather nice upgrades I need to chase down a running problem and would like to try a different ECU just in case.

I have a 4.5 ECU, but I understand that on the 4.5 loom the throttle pots and the crank sensor are the other way around (in terms of pin connections). On that note, the throttle pots connectors are easy to turn around (the metal clip won't clip as such) - anyone tried it for the crank sensor?

Thoughts and comments welcome chaps.

you can still run the 4.5 ecu on a 4.2 : they're essentially the same unit bar the eprom, just swap this over and away you go.

Is that the big chip (sorry for my ignorance).

Would that mean that if I swapped the chip it would run the same map as before?

there's two big chips in the ecu next to each other .. the bigger of the two is the NVRAM .. leave that one alone .. but next to it is a shallower chip with a sticker on it .. that holds all the maps for the running of the ecu .. swap it for the chip out of your 4.2 and yo will be able to run the 4.5 ecu in your car.
