As title really, thinking of taking the plunge and going for a Cerb.........4.2 or 4.5, maybe even a modded one....

I know there may be issues with them, but they look SO nice....

Am also considering a Tuscan, but a bit wary of the SP6 engines!

Only time will tell, but quite fancy a Cerb, as not much will give as much bang per buck I feel.

ouch!

Actually, just checked his profile, there does appear to be some dithering going on laugh

Get a 4.5 Cerb and be done with it (Silver is the best colour biggrin)!!

Do it. I was in your shoes about two years ago, weighed up 'should I, shouldn't I' etc. Looked at more 'sensible' alternatives (VX220 Turbo, M Coupe) but always came back to a Cerb.

Ended the dreaming after 18 months and bought one. So glad I did.

Don't rush, get a good one - and love every second of it.

Bear in mind though - unless you're handy with the spanners/allen keys you'll need £3k a year to look after it.

Good luck...

Thanks, I am quite copetent with the spanners etc, so brakes and all that not really a problem for me to do myself, only thing I would not really want to touch is the engine...

I am SERIOUSLY thinking of one now, as the wife expressed an interest in how nice they look!

Thing is, could she drive it easily enough, as she drove the 500 Chim we have a few times, but complained her leg was sore due to the clutch?

Seconded, do it. I looked a couple of years back, again last year and bought one this year. Only regret is not doing it sooner, they are fantastic! I'd also recommend spending a bit of time looking at a few and not rushing into it. That way you will recognise the right one when you see it. I nearly bought the first seemingly decent one I saw, but Rob Ingleby's inspection showed a £3k+ series of significant faults on a car that was already at the top of my price range. Hope this helps from a newbie.

Just seen the last post, my wife drove me back from the pub and coped well enough but didn't like it mainly because of visibility and not being able to see where the corners are.

Oh dear! She had better try one first!

But there is loads of room under the bonnet to fit a servo for the clutch if it is a show stopper!

Anybody done it?

No change on the clutch department.Thats one of the reasons why my partner prefers the Corvette. In her words a much better car.But please, enough dithering, and posting should i,should i not buy one.If you are still undecided after a year, then i doubt you will ever buy one.tumbleweed

Well, have seen these 2 and been in contact with the sellers and they both seem good (engine rebuids etc..):

Now what are other peoples opinions, as the first one seems to have a few 'nicer' bits on it?

Either post here or email me on leemarkadams@yahoo.com

What ! yikes It is quite vivid I'll give you that.

I'd favour the cianti starmist. Looks excellent. Great colour and a fair bit of work done.

Dont worry Im not offended - just bemused why anybody would want to buy one of the most outrageous cars ever made, yet insist on keeping things safe with the colour!

What car?

The purple one would be ideal...if it was not purple!

Does the colour outweigh the car's history? Let alone the price.

My wife drove ven my old Grale and Fiat Coupe and loved em but won't get behind the wheel of this one. Her reasons were poor visibility, too much noise and the smell of petrol. Hee hee.

I ain't complaining though!

The clutch isn't as bad as you think, but as said, its probably best to get her to have a go first!

As for the engine they seem to be very strong, i think someone here has over 125000 miles on theirs without a re-build! Just make sure you get a good one, I have had mine since November last year with only (touches wood and says a prayer) the Rad needing a re-core, but that only cost £135.

Its the best driving experience, and for the money there is just nothing that can touch it, I was selling mine a few months back but after looking for something to replace it I decided I would have to spend at least double to get something even close to being as nice as the Cerb!

So go for it while there is a few months of good sunshine left, although looking outside I think winter has just kicked in, but lots of fun around roundabouts!
