Does anyone know what the standard equipment was fitted to Cerberas? For example was air-con an option or standard?

Going by what you can buy second hand Aircon was an option.

16" alloys on the 4.2s
17" RL alloys on the early 4.5 or was it the 18 RLs?

Thanks for the reply, didn't realise that so much was an option! I might be looking for an older cerb at some point in the near future and I think that air-con is a must in these cars.

It is but unless you are aware of the limitations, it would be worth doing some searches here about effectiveness.

I guess that depends on how often you use it really. From a resale point of view it's always good to have the extras but I must admit I never use mine - I tend to just open the windows. Never use the stereo either. Think of all the weight saving you could do :-)

I agree with Mr M, haven't used the aircon in mine yet either (although miles have been quite limited so far). Couple of times I wished I could have used it, when it was REALLY hot, but apart from that I'm a windows down kinda guy. Get to hear the engine/exhaust more that way too!

Didn't realise the leather was an optional extra too!!

Aircon was on my list but I haven't used it yet either. The cabin doesn't seem to have got anywhere near as hot as I thought it would - maybe cos the windscreen/side windows aren't as big as on other cars I've had, so less sunlight getting in? If I do feel warm I go for the windows down approach - good for the sound effects too .

Will do. It's just after my trip in the chim to the south of France in a heatwave, I decided that next time I'd do it in a cerb with air con. I imagine without in 30 + degrees it could be a bit of a sweat box..

Christ, a 4.2 cost £41138 back then so that's over £21800 in extras. Something doesn't sound right there, hydratrak was never that dear as carpets and aircon amount to just over £2200. Unless Parkers and the traders Black Book are wrong.

I disagree about the air-con, fr me it is a must have working option. Can't bear to be hot in a car. Betty Swollox and all that.

And for the potential cost of sorting failed air con then this should be reflected in the sale price of those cars with it but it not working.

I agree too, air con is a must have. At the height of summer in slow moving traffic it's a welcome relief being blasted in the face with proper cool air. Which reminds me, must get mine re-gassed as it's not as cool as it could be. Not that it really matters at the moment with such low Summer temperatures, in the Midlands that is...

The total cost of my Speed 6 from TMS Performance Vehicles first registered in July 99 was £47,530 on a base cost of £41,860 i.e. £5,670 worth of extras however a few differences on the prices namely:
- metallic paint £380
- gold badge upgrade £110 i.e. £55 each!!
- wool carpet £275
- aluminium handbrake upgrade £80
- upgraded white indicator lenses £265!!
- 18" wheel upgrade (not spiders) £1,780!!! and one more for you
- Tracker Retrieve £250

The options list continues to grow. I would guess that essentially you could have anything you wanted - at a price!

The aircon was an expensive option at £1,980 and therefore not to be found on all cars but imho is essential on the Speed 6 as the passenger footwell (not often inhabited by someone as appreciative of the engine/exhaust sound as the driver) gets much hotter - due to exhaust - than the driver's.

Very personal choice I know, but I do not have Aircon in my Cerbera. I find the heat manageable (including the extreme heat of Le Mans 2006!!).

I wouldn't enjoy driving the Cerbera as much if I knew I had to have the window closed for the aircon to be most effective. I have the window open even in winter! tongue out
