Wiper park switch question
Discussion
I can get to the park switch ok with the wiper motor still on the car, the question is, how does the switch come off the motor, does it pull off easy or do you have to prise it off in a certain direction, any info welcome that will make the job easier for taking off and putting back on.
hi Kevin
its bin a while since I did this fix but I seem to remember I had to remove the expansion tank to be able to move the motor out far enough to get to the switch. The fiddliest bit was reconnecting the tube underneath the tank when putting it back. The whole thing took about an hour.
Good luck

Thanks, I was going to try and pull it off but was then thinking about something Kojak said about putting it back on, so thought I would put everything back together and ask on here, also I was going out and wanted to use the car.
Didn't phone you Mick because I thought you were away.

In my usual 'blog-it-and-slog-it' form, I took everything off (including header tank - which was just as well coz I got rid of a header bubble which improved the water temp sensor reading) and broke off one of the two two teeth which hold the switch on to the Wiper body. The unit didn't work anyway so didn't worry me.New unit was a push-fit on so very easily attached. Whole thing took me half a day and two cuppas !
