Hello all.

Having taken all my purple intake pipes off and having run the engine for a while, I noticed that my injectors seem to pulse rythmically, rather than a constant spray.

Is this normal and if it is, what causes the pulsing like that. The pulsing gets faster as the throttle is pressed.

All info appreciated.

I think thats just how the injectors regulate the amount of fuel they flow. For example, the rated flow volume of an injector is based on it being open all the time, but since the injector is either fully open or fully closed, it obtains lower flow rates by opening an closing very quickly (hence the clicking sound). More rapid pulses just means that the injector is opening for more of the time I would imagine, which will obviously be required as the throttle is opened further.

Yes.

The injector is essentially a tap which is open or closed. To control the fuel flow rate, the ECU turns the injectors on and off each time the engine goes round, and the length of time they're 'on' determines the amount of fuel the engine received.
