I think i'm ready for a clutch.
Got in the car tonight and couldn't get it in gear. When I switch off the engine, I can then get it in gear.., but if I then start the car in gear,with the clutch pedal depressed it jumps as though I'm not using the pedal. Any ideas, or does it look bad.
Clutch fluid is at the top.Can't see any leaks.

sounds like you have exactly the same symptoms as me - it was a clutch but I managed to make it to the place that fixed it about half a dozen gear changes before it went completely - they ended up pushing it into the workshop after shunting it about a bit on site but I avoided the cost of recovery
I'd shop around for the best price locally - I found big variations
on the plus side the new one is so much lighter its like a different car to drive as the clutch had got quite heavy - I nearly put my foot through the pedal box on the first couple of changes

I hope Joolz has one in stock, or you could have a bit of a wait for one from tvr. Just had a four week wait on mine till I gave the factory a phone asking questions, then what do you know tvr phone me the next day saying that they've taken it off the production line and Ill get it the next day which I did.

Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago, apparently it was something to do with the 'fingers' (whatever they are) and it needed a new clutch. All done under the warranty and I think it was less than a grand.

Mine had the same, but WH paid 50% of the bill due to the lining "wear and tear" of 50% bill was about 1K

If it is the clutch that has gone (which i'm pretty sure it has), and not the master or slave cylinder, then i hope its some of the 'fingers' that have broken off. This, from the warranty angle, should/hopefully be classed as breakage, and therefore the costs partly covered.
Also, not sure if Joolz can carry out 'warranty work', or does it have to be done at a TVR main dealer? Hope he can. I'm calling to see him Monday.

Exactly the same problem I had last year. Luckily RAC cover included the recovery from home to nearest dealer 50 miles away.

I also renewed a bunch of seals etc and cylinder so ended up with pretty much a new clutch system end-to-end. WH covered about £500 with a further £800'ish for me to pay.

Warranty work (certainly through WH) can be carried out at any garage, as long as they are VAT registered. The last time I spoke to Joolz though, he wasn't VAT registered, so you can't use him....

My clutch has given up the ghost too, but I'm not sure whether it's just the cylinder seals.
Pedal started to feel weird on M1 last night at end of 5 hour trip from N Yorks back to London. managed to get home with only 5 or 6 more gearchanges, but as I pulled up to the garage, pedal went straight to the floor with no resistance. Big pool of what I guess is clutch fluid under the car.
Can anyone confirm that it is likely to be the cylinder seals rather than the clutch itself? Will WH pay for any of this to be repaired? Does it make sense to change the clutch at the same time, assuming it needs to come apart anyway?

Big puddle under car sounds like Slave cylinder (you usually get a small wet patch in the drivers footwell when the master cylinder goes). Slave cylinder means gearbox out (or certainly away from engine). BUT, WH did pay for our slave to be repaired when it went last summer (work done at Walldonway). The only thing we had to pay for was the release bearing which was less than £20 . Good luck !

Exactly what happened to me except I didn't get any warning. Pulled off the slip road to my mothers house and my foot went to the floor.
Slave cylinder. Means gearbox off, bellhousing off and replace the seals, most places recommend changing the cylinder also plus labour and other small items. My cylinder was in good condition so I didn't replace it (tempting fate maybe).
Logic says that if one goes the other will follow soon!!!
