I have been thinking about getting some spiders for the Cerb, purely for asthetic reasons.
Trouble is, they do give a harder ride don't they? Or the Cerb I was in recently did. Nearly shook the fillings out :| Maybe his dampers were fubar?

I am going to be getting new shocks soon, to complete the renewal of the front suspension, and was wondering if Protechs will be able to dampen the harsh spider ride without being too soft, and inducing too much body roll.

There are so many variables to getting the ride the way you want it, and the spiders are going to be a big factor.
Do spider wearing Cerb owners just sacrifice a more comfortable ride for better asthetics? smile
I want the Cerb to handle, ofcourse. But I also want to enjoy a bit of cruising too. And I know decent shocks are adjustable. But enough to iron out the lower profile tyres?

My 4.5's on 18" spiders & Nitrons with Eibach ? Upgraded springs & it drives beatifully over all the but the deepest of holes. That said, it drove perfect with knackered Avo's on confused

The 4.2's got the original 16" wheels and that's had Avo's & Ohlins on, and it's a slightly softer/better drive with the Ohlins, but still not as good as the 4.5 with Avo's.

I have spiders on mine, the ride is harder, you will need to fit stops to the rack to stop the fronts hitting the wishbones on full lock, and you may get rubbing on the rear arch, some cerbs do some don't. They are also quite soft and damage easily, I trashed one of mine on a pothole. All that said they do look so much better , IMHO, and suit the car well.
I kept the standard wheels and may put them back on from time to time.

I know this is not a direct answer to the question you asked, but it may be helpful! tongue out

I changed from Spiders to SP12's and the handles much better (although I'm hardly an extreme driver! laugh). I found with the Spiders I nearly always seemed to have a slight wobble and looked like a madwoman trying to dodge potholes in order to avoid bending them.

My Cerbera now has Protechs - which are great - for me - Trackcar built them and fitted them for me. I drove the Cerbera for a while with Protechs and Spiders, felt great.

Protechs and SP12's - marvellous!

I've got through six spiders, all of which have buckled driving over some of Kents finest pot holes. I'll be changing to SP's when I'm back in UK next.

I hope Phil is giving you a nice commision Nicky tongue out

The SP wheel does have good feedback, but I'm just not crazy about the look. Much prefer the look of the spiders, less spokes.
I admit I am a bit reluctant when I hear they buckle so easily. But, as already said, they do suit the car so well.

I think I will be going down the TCS route if Joo can do me a good deal on shocks, whirlwind and other bits.

Commission? Hmmm. Am I going on a bit? laugh (I know you're only joking, but seriously, I only speak as I find). Agree the Spiders look lovely and I think you should go for them if that's what you really like. We all know they're a little 'soft', but that just means you can make allowances and take good care, whilst accepting that you may have to replace one occasionally.

It's all very personal, but lots of Cerberas have them, so it's not THAT big a problem tongue out.

Not sure if it's already been said on this thread, but you may prefer to get four 'fronts' to avoid possible rubbing on wheel arch at the rear. Seems some cars are fine with fronts and rears, some aren't smile, but you probably already know this tongue out.
