My car that is, it's been a long time, I mean a loooooooooooong time smile

But Ol' Bluey's got it's engine back in, we even communicated to each other over the phone yesterday biggrin, as I could here it going on to the ramp for it's pre MOT inspection.

Fingers crossed for the MOT on Thursday, and I'm hoping to get it back on the evening.

Why do I get the gut feeling, that I'm going to be breaking down some time next week, with a flat battery smile

That's Power's Stores diminished by halfhehe

May need some wheel bearings, they may have developed flat spots. All the extra weight of the Gypsy household that took occupation won't have done much good.

I think they'll be glad of there rolling road booth back, it's been rotting in there every time I've seen it smile
.......
Going to advertise the Blue one as well, and keep which ever one doesn't sell first. Thought the Purple car would fly out, but there's better examples out there, and I've noticed at work, that we don't seem to be taking as much cash as we used to, so I'm guessing a lot of people are holding off on buying luxuries.
......
Had a look inside a customers CL600 bi turbo last week, and whilst on paper they look good, in the flesh & inside the car, it did nothing for me. So I'll stay 'with Cerb' for the time being.
.......
It's got various 4.5 internals Ben, I'll update the thread when I get the invoice this week.

Best get the valeter booked in smile

I presume there's going to be some 'running in' required, and the small journey to work & back is going to take months, so I might have a sight seeing tour next weekend.......somewhere exotic......... Glasgow ? smile

Hi Russ

Better news than when I last asked you then. If you need any help running in Bluey I'm off work for the next 2 weeks and could lend a hand, lol.

Regards
Simon.

Thanks Simon biggrin

Think I'll have a trip out in it, one of these next few weekends, and try and rack up the 1000 miles.

Purple resides outside your brother's local between 5.30 & 6.30 by the way drink

Cool - I'd be very interested in what you think of bluey it when it comes back.

Cheers Russell.

PS How about a Marcos Mantis GT Supercharged. Fellow PH member has one and quite an impressive beast

Cheers, but I've thrown a fair few quid at both of the Cerbs, so if it's A case of another 'mad' sports car, I'd rather keep one of them pair.

One thing though, the Blue one, even with Ohlins, is a bit of a harsh drive compared to the Purple one, but I can live with that.... However at high speed it feels nervous, like it wants to change lane, but a correction in the steering, gives me a 'snake like' delayed feeling at the back of the car. Which is very unnerving.

I know SP have got an Ohlin dealer opposite them, so I'll let them have it for a bit, once it's run in and I've renewed my vows with it, that is smile

Russ I have Ohlins on mine and get nothing like that, very stable at speeds up to 160 (not that it gets hairy after that, I just don't have any experience above that). I did notice bluey sits super low where the Cerb actually likes to sit slightly arse up I think - I'd maybe get Matt at SP on the case rather than Ohlins, they know their shocks but Matt will know what's good for the car - also if it's a hard ride I wonder what spring rates you have, maybe they are too fierce. You are welcome to have a shot in mine in October if you want a comparison.

Cheers TC

I've just looked at my blog, and I've been to Italy in it since I had the Ohlins fitted & it was fine then.

But last year, my local indie fitted a new track rod end for the MOT, and I could swear it's never been right since.

I've just faxed Power and asked them to have a look.

Here's hoping, failing that, I'll get it down to SP smile
