miles stuck at 59,999

Quite a simple one (I hope, particularly if it doesn't involve "remove speedo and send to SpeedyCables")).
Analogue mileage counter on my '98 can't quite muster the enthusiasm to roll over to 60,000 miles. Speedo is working fine.
From my Chimaera days I recall reading threads about similar things; does tapping it with your knuckles when driving, or driving forward/reverse/forward/reverse work on the Cerb, or any other better ideas ??
cheers

I've had this a few times and it seems pretty common. I've actually fixed this myself by removing the speedo and gently prising the bezel off so that I could take it apart. You can then wind it over by hand. A bit of nylon lubricant seems to have made it a less frequent chore, but I generally find I need to to it at 10k intervals.

... nobody should consider buying any of the above cars as theyve done thousands of miles more than they appear??
yep, that'll be right; after all we know that ALL TVR's do this
Better still, 'phone your local *** dealer when the bike rack is scratching your speed-sensitive spoiler on the Corrado, and he'll tell you how to disconnect the speedo / mile counter over the phone !!
