Alarm on the fritz. Read previous posts and decided it may be the backup battery in the sounder. After much cussing & swearing have alarm sounder in kitchen. It's sealed with no obvious screws so for those of you who have replaced aforementioned battery - how did you get the thing apart?

Please PM if you would rather not post as I appreciate it's fairly sensitive info.

Thanks a lot

Always presumed it's a self contained siren/battery module with no servicible parts.

Not aware you can, I thought it was a sealed unit.

Why not ring Carl in the morning, I think he also does a suitable replacment if it's fubar.

The siren IS a sealed unit!

If it is bu@@ered then you'll need a new one, Carl Baker will have them on the shelf!

Thanks folks, spoke to Carl and a new sounder is on the way. The 'sealed' unit isn't anymore, thanks to the help of a chisel, and I can confirm, there are no user serviceable parts inside!!

Carl is very helpful isn't he. Wish more people were like him.

I'm booked in to see Carl next Thursday to sort my alarm problems.

I met him at the Surrey meet and yes he is a real nice guy.

So good to find someone like him who is an experts and nice to do business with.

I'll let you know how my visit goes as it'll be a nice ride out there too!
