Hey guys, took the cerb out yesterday for a spin found it was missfiring under full throttle and then temperature reading was flickering all over the place, went up to 110 at one point then small spurts of steam came out expansion tank. Have taken n/s air box off today and found a HT lead off, now put back on. Temp sensor and readings have been fine before (within perameters for a 4.2), a lead off wouldnt have made it overheat? So im guessing i may have an air lock, whats the best way to bleed and refill the system?

Who knows? There are plenty of ways that it *could* affect the engine temperature and it seems unlikely that two problems just happened to occur together. It also seems unlikely that the temperature rise caused the lead to fall off, so IMo the most likely explanation is that the misfire caused the temperature rise. I guess you'll find out next time you take it for a run with the leads firmly attached.

There is a butterfly valve under the air boxes on the coolant rigid pipe. Just undo them a bit and any air will come out of the centre followed by the water.

Use plenty of WD when you do, as they stick, and round off easily with too much pressure.

Check if it is using water, had this on my old Cerb and turned out to be a head gasket, hope this isnt the case on yours..
