I am due to pick my Cerbera Speed 6 up this saturday! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) Can you tell i'm excited? I'm also nervous as to if i've done the right thing or not? I wanted a V8 and have always overlooked the Speed 6 however the car i saw ticked every other box apart from the V8 one. Since then i've come to the conclusion that as my first Cerbera and also first TVR that the more mild mannered and easyer to drive/live with Speed 6 might be the correct choice for me to start with. I can always buy a V8 engine'd Cerb at a later date. Finding one that ticks all the other boxes though, well thats another thing. Dose anyone else care to comment as to if they think i'm doing the right thing here? Just to add that when buying a Speed 6 be aware that they can have problems and put aside a contingency fund or go for one thats just been rebuilt 5k ago like i have. Guy.
I'm very happy with my S6. I bought it more for long distance driving than tracking and it's been totally trouble free in the 2 years or so that I've owned it. Having said that I always warm it up properly and get it serviced according to the owners manual.
I think that you will find less problems with these engines now, as owners have made upgrades and the TVR 'S6 experts' have continued to improve the quality of the repairs they are making using better parts etc.

You will of course, post pictures when you finally stop driving to take on food and water?

Speed six here. No question it is a great car, though mine has been a right royal pain in the wallet at times. But, like most of the things you love in life, a few negatives can make the bond stronger. 'Through sickness and in health' etc....
Managed around 350 miles on a tank, but it takes an enormous amount of self control to achieve.
As for the 'Purists' comment, the AJP8 is great no doubt, but both engines were first seen in a Cerb. If both then got rolled across the newer fleets i.e. tuscan etc, I'm not sure the AJP8 would carry the same kudos for their owners. Cerb is a fantastic car in whatever form it takes. I would love to own both variants, but Mrs Buffoon feels unloved enough without another competitor for my affections.
