They don't all come with MBE do they? Anyone know if it'll make it any quicker? Does different management work well on these cars? SDtrangly enough my car's a 4.2 but with 4.5 intakes too? It's wierd that it came with loads of history and I'd of thought that if it's got MBE management then there'd be a reciept?

You say your car is a 4.2 with 4.5 intakes. You may actually have a 4.5. Mine was registered as a 4.2 but is a 4.5. I'm told it was something to do with type approval when the 4.5 engine was introduced. The cars were registered as 4.2s but supplied as 4.5s and it never got corrected. This is what I'm told.

Damn, thought I'd got an uprated ECU there! ref the 4.5's etc, I've measured my cats and there 17.5 inches, which makes me think it's a 4.2 as opposed to 16 inches 4.5's have. Is there anyway I can tell by looking at the block what size it is? It drives as I'd expect a 4.5 to with all the power higher up. This is the only Cerbera I've driven though so I've nothing to compare it to.
Cheers,
Andy

A standard 4.2 will have a definite power surge round the 3000 rpm mark - the 4.5 doesn't.

What does the chassis number say, does it include 42 or 45 or GT by any chance. There is sime confusion regarding the chassis numbers. What year is the car?

take the lid off the mbe and see whats written on the eprom chip label. My 4.2 had 4.2 and I suspect the 4.5s have 4.5 hand written on the label.
