If there is I'd like to join you lads so you can give me some friendly instruction!

Hoping to get shocks changed and geo set up as soon as possible, so would be nice to see how well it really does handle.

Im going with my bro on Thursday for a novice evening at Brands, bought it for him for his birthday...but taking his Astra VXR. He's never been on track. He isnt overly impressed that Ive stuck my name down as a second driver hehe

Probably take the Cerb just to get it sound checked for the Speed Trials (wonder if I can sneak on for a few novice laps? hehe)

Brands is far for us too brummie (as fellow brummys!) - but Dad wanted to do a trackday at Brands before he does a sprint there in September... and as a result I am driving it too. smile

Looks very simple, so I hope not to be the slowest thing on track. boxedin

Okay Ben, it's not the most complicated track, but it will still catch you out, be careful!

I had planned to run an event prior to the TVRCC Speed Champ' visit in September, but the volume of work I've had of late and the grief I got last year from Andy Race (TVRCC Track Day Coordinator) rather put me off the idea.

The will be one next year - promise.

Watch Castle Combe, noise regs are HARSH. Not sure a Sports/decat Cerb' would get anywhere close.

Taken from the Castle Combe web pages: All vehicles must comply to the strict noise limit of 100db(A), which is measured at ½ metre from the exhaust outlet at 4500rpm.

Just a heads up. smile

Yup - that's true, trouble is nearly every trackday my way is now asking for 100db at 4k or 4.5k revs.
Just been on a Castle Coombe own trackday - 98.8db on the left, 99.2 on the right side so at least my new system passes biggrin

Silverstone have 105db days, but are quite pricey.
Donnington seem to have a lot of 98db days, which rules them out
Mallory seems to be 101db these days
Goodwood is mostly 98db, as is Croft.

Obviously there are exceptions.

Anyone an idea what the limit at Bedford is?

Brands, Outon park, and Snetterton all seem to still have 105db days

Anglesea.

That'd suit me as well.

Just a short ferry trip away.

There's a Silverstone Southern Circuit day coming up on 24th September, 105db, Full Day and open pitlane, sounds pretty good value at £149. Not the full GP admittedly but you need to double to price for that, it's about 1.97 miles so still a reasonable length and you get the Hangar Straight and Stowe, but you miss out on the complex. I'm interested if we could get a little group together.

Me too. (If I can't find myself a good instructor (who knows Silverstone(and Cerberas perhaps?)) wink

Anglesey appeals to me far more than silverstone... silverstone always seems a bit flat and featureless whenever I've seen it on tv/youtube etc etc.

For me Silverston is just dull.

Much more fun to take the Cerbs round Cadwell, Oulton, Donington or Anglesey biggrin

A Cerb track day would be great fun, let's get one sorted ( especially as it looks like i will be a Cerb owner for the foreseeable bounce )

Have you not had any interest Simon? Ive sent loads of people your way! Have none contacted you or are they all offering silly money?

Cheers Jules, i've had a fair bit of interest & a couple of reasonable offers. Truth is, my heart was never really interested in selling it, i even found myself putting people off, although, i was never offered asking price, which i'm sure would have swayed it biggrin

In the end, i've done a deal with the previous owner ( subject to final paperwork ) where we own 50% each. The car will have its original plate back on ( S1RBY ) & live at my house. The previous owner will have use of the car when he comes up to see me, which isn't that often.

So, whilst a little unorthodox, quite a good deal for me in the end biggrin
