My Cerbs just gone through the MOT but it seems as though the standard suspension is getting ready for replacement.

Could any of you offer some advice/suggestions/recommendations about suspension set ups, please?

I´m unlikely to be taking the car on any track days and so I suppose that something like a fast road car set up would be appropiate, however, I´d like o make as informed a choice as possible.

Stef,

Best bet is to go for one of the following:

Avo
Gaz
Protech
Racing Red

All are similar in price and I have experience of the Avo on my 4.2 and Protech on my 4.5. Of the two the Protech was the better quality and better performing item. The Gaz equipment always gets positive reviews and I have also heard good reports ref the Racing Reds.

As Joolz (Trackcar - Track Car Solutions)is on your doorstep and is recognized as one of the best in the business with the Cerb (esp suspension and set-up), why not give him a call or pop over and explain your requirements? He also stocks both the Protech and Racing Red equipment.

Jules.

Same advice from me - it's not just a case of bolting on a new set of shocks, the car needs setting up correctly afterwards, so if Joolz is on your doorstep, you'd be mad not to go there.

I can't argue with the previous advice. It's spot on!

But I have booked my Cerb in with APM to fit GAZ Golds and set up the geometry.

My car has the tired standard shocks still!

So I can't wait to see how if rides after the mods.

Won't be till 8th September though!
Beginning to get that "Want my Cerb now feeling" so often mentioned on here!

Has anyone just upgraded the fronts and left the rears as standard? I happen to have a set of front Nitrons, but my money must go on other things before I can get rears as well...

Ive just had the rears changed to Protechs to match the front, the ride is excellent, thumbs up for them. I cant judge the others as i have no experience of them, go see Joo.

Hi,

I ran standard rear and Protech fronts (set up firmly) as for me this matched my driving style. I never tracked the car but for the roads I travelled along regularly I found it perfect, it was also a handy set up for the odd drag strip day that some of the Cerb boys used to frequent in the old days... This set up might not suit everyone but for me it worked.

Thanks for that Cyclone, will get them on after I've sent them to Nitron for a rebuild.

Fit PowerFlex bushings everywhere as well.

They make a MASSIVE difference to a tired suspension.

I assume Powerflex are some type of poly bush? Have to say I've never been impressed with poly bushes.
