My First Cerb but No Garage...
Discussion
Hello,
Had my first Cerb for a week now, brought it from Cerbdog!!
She's fantastic, and i want her to stay that way, unfortunately i knocked my garage down a couple of years ago to build an extension.
Short of knocking down the extension & building a nice new garage, she will have to live outside on the front drive.
I'm unsure if i should bother with a cover or not, i will use her a lot, so a cover seems like it will be a pain in the ass.
Any advice??

If/when I get one next year, it might have to live outside for a while, whilst I clear out my garage. I'm planning on using mine as much as possible, but I will be investing in a good weather proof cover. Even if the car does end up inside, it'll come in handy as a car cover to keep the tools/dust/next door's cat off it.
Cover not practical for regular use.
If you only go out on high days and holidays, they are great, but if you use in all weathers, there is a real risk of putting the cover over the car while it is coated in dust and dirt from your travels, resulting in surface scratching.
If it leaks like a sieve then choose the lesser of 2 evils, but like Russell, mine is used daily, sits outside and does not leak. Just need to use the sponge and bucket a bit more.

Seconded. I have a cover that I can really only use if the car is spotlessly clean, otherwise it will scratch in a wind. You could always put soft blankets, etc underneath, but that's just more of a drag.If you only go out on high days and holidays, they are great, but if you use in all weathers, there is a real risk of putting the cover over the car while it is coated in dust and dirt from your travels, resulting in surface scratching.

If it leaks, just drive it more and it will soon dry out with the heat!
It will really depend on how often you are using the car. If its more than 2-3 times a week, it may not be practical to use a cover. Mine is covered when its not in the garage but its used max once a week. Also if you are covering it you have to make sure its clean otherwise the cover will scratch the car.
I do think if you can be bothered, its worth using a cover as it will stop the car 'ageing' cosmetically. My cover has had extra straps put on it by the manufacturer and has withstood all sorts of gales and storms.

If you loved your cerbera like your partner/wife then you'll park it in the lounge!
Just remove the front window and install an automatic roller shutter door, you can then watch TV from the driving seat.
Job Done!

P.S. Sorry, I'm not helping much am I.
No, this is the best advice, she can pass me my dinner & the odd beer through the window, i'll toot when i need the emply plate taken away. If i run the sound into the car speakers, i'll have built in surround sound for the telly!!
