I have had my tuscan a while and love it. Just feel I maybe missing out on the 4.5 ajp experience??
Maybe I guess I should drive some first. But Im thinking if I got a decent one 410bhp + then the change up in power would be noticeable..

Why don't you try to get more power out of your existing engine?

Cerbs are older, and look less up-to-date inside. Their chassis, along with any TVR of the same vintage, can be rotten, or well on its way. The electronics are more "Maplin" than "Sony", although I suppose that could be the same with the Tuscan too.

All of these issues can be addressed, but you have to consider a Cerb a "project" car and keep attending to the faults.

But on the flip side, you will be rewarded with a timeless design, monstrous engine (the V8 obviously) and performance which only a handful of supercars can match or beat.

I think this applys to every TVR made. Not just Cerbs.

For fear of denegrating the Cerb performance and being outcast as a traitor... I wouldn't swap them just for more performance alone if I was you. I do think the top Cerbs punch very well at silly speeds and will ultimately edge the top Tuscans, Fighting Torque results had them hitting 160 after 3/4 mile where the top Tuscs were 155, but this was the 435+ Cerbs and the duration taken over the 3/4 was still eerily similar to the Tuscs - only shows that a decent launch etc is enough to negate the power differences either way - The only time IMO you will truly witness the difference is on a super long run down an autobahn and super high speed, where a Cerb will likely edge away. Buy a Cerb if you want one for it being a Cerb and even an AJP8 for a different noise, character to what you have now, but my gut feeling is, if you buy it for feeling more power you are going to be hard pushed to notice much difference from the drivers seat.

I agree with you totally. I love the Cerb for its "sense of occasion", it's character, looks, noise - you all know what I mean.
But performance? Sure it is a very fast car, but when I read about cars like the latest Audi R8, which has had millions spent on development - by a company with probably the best engineers in the world working for it - has a sophisticated 4wd system, a 460Bhp engine and a 0-60 time 4.4 seconds. I do sometimes wonder about the factory claims of 0-60 in 3.9 seconds for our old 1990's designed car that had zero spent on development, and has absolutely no electronic trickery fitted to it.
I'll now come and join you in the traitors club biggrin

hehe I still wouldn't swap it for anything else though - love it.

ETA - Not so much a Traitors club, more a "I love the car - but it is 17 years old, and I'm a realist" club

ha, I think there are some very good points there. Guess I'm just bored at work! Seems to be lots of SP6 developments happening too right now. superlight weight flywheels and equal length manifolds etc, and I do love the looks of mine. Sorry for getting you outcast TC!

17 years old?

Cripes, that is an early one - was it a proto-prototype?
