Had my cerb 13 days & managed to spin it today!

Can't believe it, haven't taken the pi** at all!!! I've been sensible at all times & even more so in the rain, i've read the hand book & observed all the rules!Drove back from aberdeen to london without a hitch!!!!

Spun it tonight, went into a shicane style corner off of a local roundabout (well hall se9), put my foot down on the way in & done a 360 + 90 on the way out!!!

I'm completely gutted i done it, i feel really stupid!!

I really have taken it easy the whole time i've had the car. The only time i've ever lost a couple of feet with a car was on the same corner in wet a few years ago with a new car... not making me feel much better though!!

Take the pi## please, i deserve it!!!!!

Cars okay, right?

If so, no harm done - spun my first one too - it's their way of letting us know they're only letting us think WE own them instead of the other way round (no pun intended).

My shoulders did sink when I opened the thread, thought you'd been on a rolling road and got the same results as the rest of us!

Take care,
Donny

If the car is undamaged, put it down to a good lesson learned.

I was out yesterday evening in the closest I've ever seen to monsoon rains in Kent.

A420 yesterday afternoon near Oxford was 1" deep of running water. I slowed to under 40 as the car was aquaplaning but a golf decided here was his chance to overtake - although he ended up passing me sideways and then backwards... He missed me by inches and after checking him and his car was ok I wasn't very polite or complimentary about his driving.

Anything involving a change of direction or acceleration can unsettle the car, so the middle of a chicane is not usually a good place to be putting your foot down. Stick with straight lines and (later, when you have started to get a feel for the limits of grip and know how to balance and catch the car as it starts to slide) corner exits.

Car's unbelievably ok... two chips out of the wheels, apart from that, not a scratch, i still cant believe we missed everything!!!! It was a real eye opener, everyone has said take it really easy in the wet... did i listen... nope!!

For the record, think mine recorded 400bhp on the rolling road after a remap by previous owner, is that standard that they all get this upgrade??

Yes, i'll get back to learning what it does & how to drive properly, rather than the 'lets go fast attitude'

Would it behave like this in the dry on such a corner??

Oi!!! What are you doing to my car smile (I've changed my ID from Cerbdog btw)

As has been said before, slow in fast out, pick you line and don't deviate from your chosen path master luke!

Never spun it myself, always thought it felt quite quite good through the twisties, apart from mini roundabouts in the wet.

Keep it shiny side up Al smile

Lucky. Learn from it - do a few trackdays and such/ driving course time maybe??

Dad spun yesterday too... twice. But it was at Brands Hatch, in the streaming rain at a sprint. thumbup Shows you're trying hard enough (in the right places/conditions obviously)

Are you sure London Transport did not leave some oily stuff on the road!

Might not have been your fault at all!

Could even have been the tail end of this Hurrican that lifted the rear end??

On the other hand booting it going into the corner is brave stuff indeed!

So do you hold the current record with 360 +90 with no damage?

Glad you're ok Alex. I've had mine since May 07 and to be honest I'm still getting used to the way it delivers the power and it's a pleasure when you discover a little bit more each time. I'm a slow learner of course :-). Just give yourself months to get used to it rather than days.

Nope, i'm quite sure it was all my fault, but i'm loving the excuses!!!!

Brave/stupid...... i'm sure they translate into the same meaning.

450 degree spin without damage may be the record, not one i'm pleased to hold though, bloke next to me at the bus stop looked quite shocked by what he'd seen!
