Anyone know it?

no but it is very expensive, colour combo is unusual and the wheels are team dynamics rather than SP modded ones. And as for the price...

i think its nice, if its had a rebiult 4.5 engine the n12.5 k isnt much. dont judge by colour combination thats personal taste. Judge on chassis and drivetrain condition

Was 4.2 - crank snapped - new 4.5 lump fitted under warranty (no 4.2's available at that stage apparently). Done around 20K on new lump - total mileage 41K. Colour is Masala(!)

DVLA check shows as 4.2

doesnt matter what the dvla say, i wouldnt even bother declaring it, early 4.5s had 4.2 bottom ends i think, and late 4.2s where 4.5s. Anyhow if its got a new 4.5 lt engine with only 20k on the clock snap it up, the 4.5s are very reliable units. if you look after them you can get 100k miles without requiring any major work.

if you are seriously interested in the car get rob ingleby to check it out for you. if hes selling at 12.5k only because of the engine swap and it has no other issues then it is a bargain. btw i like the wheels on it

OK - seen it and spoken to previous owner Kingsley Marten. The oil pump on the original 4.2 failed and they couldn't get certain parts from the factory so ended up doing a 'old pals/favour' (so no paperword) type thing for a new 4.5 race engine hence the forged steel crank and other goodies (not remapped though). He said anyone who knew AJP engines would know what this engine was when they had a look at it. The rear anti roll bar has been removed and the front one beefed up which Kingsley said transformed the handling. The car is exceptionally low - the rear wheels don't rub however as the ohlins are set up well. Corners very flat and felt very planted - don't know about cerb power delivery but it didn't feel as quick as it probably was. Didn't get to look underneath really but the chassis rails I could see through the rear wheel arch that go to the outriggers were scabby and no sign of waxoil.

Pops and bangs like a goodun on overrun, lol!

Made an offer but at only one day on the classifieds understandly it was turned down. Vendor is very nice guy as was Kingsley - a real gent.

I think it's a great price, Ohlins and a rebuild are both major plus points. Obviously as with all early Cerbs (well all TVRs in fact) you want to get a good inspection of the chassis, if that passes then I think it's a great buy. The combo might be a bit marmite yes, I personally think it's great and fairly unique but can understand why it might put some off come resale, but I still think that price is good.

Again - it's not a rebuild - it was a new race engine (Tuscan race spec) - unfortunately it's not clear when it went in but around 20K so it's done about 20K since install. Ohlins were instaled by Martin Short

Sorry yes new engine, although peace of mind-wise I would say a decent rebuild amounts to the same level of confidence, perhaps more.... re the Tuscan Race spec engine, are they saying it is dry sumped version?

i would suggest again to get a specialist to check it out for you (engine, chassis etc). give rob ingleby a call (findasportscar.com) if he says its all good you ll be buying a bargain. you can also speak to an at APM he is a top cerb indie if hes serviced it as the add states he will be able to tell you about the engine and general condition of the car

You can tell quite quickly. The dry sumped racer engine has two wings at the bottom where the road engine has only one. The engine may be a half way house using some racer spec parts with the wet sump of the road engine.
