Hi
It appears that the drive shaft seal and bearing have failed for the lower drive pulley of the alternator. (Cerb 4.2 AJP)I have removed the alternator and mounting plate and there are definite signs of failure and movement in the shaft. I assume it is not a floating shaft? There has been considerable bearing noise and some oil loss in this area. The question is.... how do I get to the bearing? I think the oil seal can be popped out from the casting externally but I have no idea about access to the shaft and bearing. My initial thoughts are that the front cover plates will need to come off but this is a relatively big job? Has anyone stripped this section down before and is there a sectional drawing, photos, sketches, etc in existence? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
