Hi all

My Cerbera is playing up at the moment, It starts fine and everything is good apart from:
I can't open the drivers door, either from the outside, inside or pulling open handle in the car.
Also I can't open the boot using the Cerbera badge on the boot.

Are there any other ways to get into the boot as I need to check the fuses.

Please help

Thanks

Sounds like the catch is broken if you cant get in using the emergency door release.

Sorry to sound like a horrible synic, but from your profile theres absolutley nothing to show that you're not just a car thief looking to find an easy way to steal a Cerbera. My advice would be to see a dealer, or speak to the person who you bought the car from.

Stealing a Cerbera easy?
If someone gave me the info on how to open the door or boot I would still need the immobiliser key and the ignition failsafe key.
I am simply having a problem and was recommended to pistonheads. Now thanks to your comment I look like a thief and no one will probably reply.

Regardless of who you are, it would not be a good idea to post details of how to get into the car on an open internet forum.

John, please dont feel victimised. It is an unwritten agreement (on PH at least) between most Cerb owners not to give out the 'secret entry' info to unknown PHers in case that person is going to use that information for improper gain. The normal response is to suggest that person speaks to the supplying dealer or vendor for the information, or taking documented proof (V5 log book?) to a local dealer/owner who will then gladly show you the entry method.

For starters, where are you located (Wales is a BIG place wink)?

We are just trying to protect our cars, its not a personal crusade against you smile

More worryingly from your post, is the inability to open the door using the pull handle (otherwise it would normally point to a problem/bad connection with wiring/electrics)

Good luck smile

Hi all, the door wouldn't open with the emergengy pull as the door locking mechanism had slipped.
The door is now open but not via the electronics but via the emergency pull only!
Passenger door is working using all methods.

Also managed to open the boot, (won't mention how) found all the electronic boxes. When i use the passenger door wing mirror i can hear the relays clicking in the 'door locks/window control unit'. But when i try drivers door there is nothing happening. similar with the boot.

Can i ask two things, firstly is the boot controlled by the same box or is it independent and secondly any ideas where i can get a hold of one of these boxes.

My apologies for being rash earlier i was simply frustrated with being unable to get into drivers door or boot.

Please accept my sincere apologies- I certainly was not trying to suggest thet you are a car thief. I do hope that you get your problems sorted out though, and as has been suggested above, the internal emergency door releases are a big concern to get sorted too.

If it was all doors and the boot then I'd suggest the fuses. I had this problem when I popped one fixing the cigarette lighter socket.

If it's one door only it could be the connecting plug in the door with dirty contacts?

Cant help with the switching boxes/boot release, but most common problem/fix for non opening doors is the connector behind the door card being corroded. Has happened to me and several others.

To remove the door card, undo the 7 hex screws on leading and lower edge of the door (careful, as the card will drop as the last screw is removed) and inspect the connector. Usually a clean up and all is well. Certainly your first port of call and only a 15 minute job, even for a numpty like me smile
