Hello all,

Need my speedo taking out and seeing to with the lubricant etc. Keeps sticking all the time and I've had enough.

I know a firm do it, but just can't remember their name.

Anyone got a link? or a number?

Cheers

I would advise against using speedy cables.Just not speedy enough.Took a year to refurb a clock on my Jeep. And they managed to loose a clock from my mates boat.Used bob speedometer in the states.Ship out-refurb-and back within a month.

I used Speedy Cables. I do think they fall foul of the Trades Description Act, but I managed to get through to one of their Directors (Andy someone) who chased it up for me. Took about a month all told.

Annoyingly, the damn milometer has stuck again! On 50k this time, but Im just going to run with it for the SpaRing trip and get it sorted when back. Although, I have heard that a short blast to 140mph may unstick it, so look out Autobahn evil

This is why I put a diagnostic feature on the speedo sensor that drives the speedo up at 90-100 mph. A couple of presses on the odo reset button usually clears it.

Part of the problem is the grotty signal that comes from the speedo sensor itself which leads into partial clicks inside the unit which with a bit of stiction causes the odo to stall.

Mine eventually does. I've learnt to leave it alone when it sticks on a 10k anniversary and sooner or later it works again. biggrin

So far then...

Speedy cables aren't speedy - a link?

And that's about it.

Any other reputable companies do this?

http://www.speedycables.com

I dealt with one of the Directors, Andy Barraclough. He says he pused the order through for me as I was buying an oil temp guage from them too.

Gawd knows what it would have been like if he hadnt pushed yikes
