Tilton starter motor
Discussion
I believe it was a special for TVR. When I contacted Tilton a while ago about it I was told that I could buy another one as long as I bought another 9999! You might be able to get another one to fit with a similar spec though, so I would contact them and see if they can suggest anything.

Thanks, I'm trying to work out which solenoid is fitted as they've not expensive and was thinking of ordering a couple for the 'shelf'.
A friend is having starter problems, again, and it started me thinking about the two spare starters I have in the garage. One was suffering with the 'hot-start' problem.

Interesting you mention that. One of the Surrey gang with a chim' had a similar problem. He was faced ith a new starter so had nothing to lose in talking the old one to pieces. He found that the rod thrown within the solenoid had a near air tight fit and thought this might be the cause of his hot start woes. He lightly sanded it down and then re-assembled the solenoid and has not had a problem since. I don't know how similar the Tilton starter is but it's got to be worth a look.A friend is having starter problems, again, and it started me thinking about the two spare starters I have in the garage.
