Does anyone know where the alarm siren is on a 97 4.2?
Bought a new alarm as mine kept going off randomly unplugged old Meta system but siren refuses to give up wailing.

Sorry if this seems harsh, but that's not really info that should be posted on a public forum, especially only days after you were asking about the "secret" way in.

Dealer or previous owner are your best bets.

ETA - we are a helpful bunch really, it's just unfortunate that your first two questions have been about the two pieces of sensitive information that don't get discussed.

When you say you have bought a new alarm, are you saying you have bought a new after market unit to replace the Meta alarm? I wouldnt think that is a wise move as everything else on the car is linked in to the Meta alarm.
When the Siren is about to 'die', it randomly gives out a series of beep n tweets whenever it feels like it, all you need to do is replace the Siren, your best bet is to give Carl Baker a ring and talk to him.

thanks very much for the info, i will call him tomorrow or monday worse case.
Found the siren and stuffed blankets where it is, slightly less curtain twitching now from the neighbours. Clever place to put siren for obvious reasons but no good if doing a spot of diy!
Thanks again

Mod note: information removed

You can get a replacement siren from Carl Baker for about £70.
