I know the arse is out of the market at present but i wanted to see what people think of my asking pricing for my Cerbera. I have tried to take into account that (a) market is very limited (b) that i am in Northern Ireland and anyone not across here already is going to have to travel to view/buy the car.

Really selling yourself short.
I'd be looking for at least £23000 for such a lovely example.
Only my opinion, but no wonder the price of cerbs is falling through the floor when cars like this come up for peanuts.
You can't even buy a decent new family saloon for that sort of money.

Phil, I've got to agree with marcus above, I think your car is worth much more.
The points are:-
Great, rare colour
Fantastic condition
Best engine
Low number of owners
Low mileage
Good service history
One of the last one's made
No ropey accidents or repairs
If it wasn't for the fact that I've already got 3 TVR's, plus a few other toys, at 18k I'd rip your arm off - stick it in the garage for a year or two until all this credit crunch b
ks blows over and then put it up at £26/27k.
These are seriously good cars and people will soon start to realise that manufacturers do not make them like this anymore, TVR certainly won't be making anymore. Once people realise, I think/hope prices will be on the up!

The interior would not be to my taste. TVR's are supposed to have an extrovert interiors. Mileage is also high for such a new car. Mine is 11 years old and has done about the same mileage. That strip of water is also hampering your sale.
Contact a UK dealer or two and see what they think it's worth and then ask what they think would sell it. You will probably find the latter figure is quite low at the moment. It's not TVR's but the whole car market.
I just bought an 11 month old Discovery as my daily driver which had lost 41% of it's retail price in less than a year. A friends 3 litre Legacy estate is even worse - paid £28K new a year ago and best offer in PX now is £11.8K - almost 58% in one year.
Any car with a big petrol engine and high running costs is taking a big hit in value at the moment with mortgage, fuel and food costs rising.

The Cerbera does have an extrovert interior, and full Black leather is actually a pretty rare interior colour - I think it suits the Cerb perfectly - This car is a lovely looking example, you should be asking Top dollars for it. There are 2 different markets for Cerberas at the moment. One is for the Chavs who are buying them up because they are cheap, and will slowly ruin them through lack of proper maintenance. And the other smaller market is for real enthusiasts who have the money and are willing to pay for a good example.Contact a UK dealer or two and see what they think it's worth and then ask what they think would sell it. And how on earth can you include a Cerbera in the same Category as a Discovery and a bloody Legacy Estate???

Your Disco was £34K in Sept 07. Plus extras. Think you said it had 5K of extras. Extras arent that relevant to the depreciation calc?? So hope you paid no more than £20K.cracking car, cant see why it wouldnt sell, only one critisism, the graphics...Id remove them for the sale therefore opening up to more potential buyers. I for one would have second thoughts about it due to my previous cars, i know that others like them with graphics have generally been hooned to death.

So hope you paid no more than £20K.My point was that the car market is struggling big time at the moment. Bargains are everywhere you look because very few people are buying cars. Classic and exotic cars are not excluded. Look at the length of time most Cerberas are taking to shift in the Classifieds.
We all want our cars to be worth more but the simple matter is they are only worth what someone will pay for them. You may have to wait a long time for that person.
PS. Last time I looked the Irish Sea separated Northern Ireland from the rest of the UK.
I think it's a lovely looking car - although I agree about the graphics.
Extrovert interiors put me off a lot of cerbs lol! Never sure letting the customer have such a free reign on colour choices was such a good idea (in fact I'm sure it wasn't!)
Black interior suits the graphite metallic - subtle and menacing!
PS Amused the link was taken out of the original post but is stil in the quote a few posts down, lol!

You have hit the nail on the head there.

If there are 50 cerbs for sale at £20000 and then some shark gets hold of a load and starts selling the cars at £18000 (the same spec as the other 50 for sale), then the value of the £20000 cerbs will be £18000 until the shark runs out.
If everyone that was selling a cerb put it in at £20000 and stuck to their guns, yes the sales would be slower, but those people who really want a cerb would pay the £20000 as there would be no other way of getting one. Of course unless the shark comes along and starts undercutting everyone.
You've only got to look at the price of Griffs to see this at work.
Most Griffs fetch far more than cerbs of the same age. Is it because they are woth more - no I don't think so. I just think that Griff drivers may have their heads screwed on and worth their car a lot more than the people that want to sell their cerbs quickly.
Only my opinion of course.
